                               RESOLUTION NO. 21569
                   
                   
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE 
                   CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO ENTER INTO A 
                   FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH 
                   PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, INC. TO PROVIDE 
                   FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES TO THE CITY FOR 
                   A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR BEGINNING NOVEMBER 
                   1, 1997, WITH TWO (2) ONE-YEAR RENEWAL

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor and the City Finance 
       Officer are hereby authorized to enter into a Financial Advisory 
       Services Agreement with Public Financial Management, Inc. 
       (hereinafter "the Advisor"), to provide financial advisory 
       services to the City for a period of one year beginning November 
       1, 1997.  There shall be two one-year renewal options to be 
       exercised at the discretion of the City and Advisor upon the same 
       terms and conditions as the original agreement.
       	    	 Compensation for said Agreement shall be at the rate set 
       forth in the proposal submitted by "Advisor" or such better rate 
       as may be negotiated by the City Finance Officer.
